St. Louis, MO – The Most Reverend Robert J. Hermann is scheduled to join the volunteers from Incarnate Word parish on Monday, March 23, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Planned Parenthood at 4251 Forest Park Ave, St Louis, MO 63108, as they witness to the community their support of the 40 Days for Life campaign and the effort to put an to end abortion.
“We are very pleased and honored that Bishop Hermann is supporting our efforts,” said Maria Thompson, co-director of the 40 Days for Life campaign in St. Louis. “Bishop Hermann is the spiritual leader of the Catholic Church in the St. Louis Archdiocese, and we are honored that he would make the time to come out to pray with us to end abortion.”
About Bishop Hermann
Bishop Hermann was born in Weingarten, MO in 1934. He was ordained a priest in 1963 and has served the Archdiocese in a number of parishes as a teacher, assistant pastor, associate pastor, and pastor. His most recent parish assignment was at Incarnate Word parish in Chesterfield, MO.
Bishop Hermann represents the Archdiocese in overseeing the parishes in five deaneries: Northeast St. Louis County, Northwest St. Louis County, Festus, St. Charles County and Washington. His responsibilities also include Catholic education, stewardship and development, and several other agencies and ministries. As an Auxiliary Bishop, he shares in the responsibility of teaching, sanctifying and governing the faithful of the Archdiocese.
