I am a member of the St. Louis Ethical Society and wish to state
that even though I do not base my position on any form of dogma,
I personally believe that abortion is ethically wrong. To me,the
protection of a potential(and in fact inevitable)human child is
the morally superior stance on an extremely polarizing issue. Freedom of choice in the abstract seems a conventionally progressive position, but I find that the reality of what that
choice may be cannot be justified except in the case of grave
danger to the mother. Freedom of choice can be justified after
a birth, however, and an ethical community must provide for the
care of the child if that choice involves separation from the
mother. The ultimate value of the Ethical Society is that issues
as important and apparently irresolvable as this one can be
discussed and debated with respect shown to opposing viewpoints.

When Kate said that "no doctors to perform services desperately needed didn't sound like it was a good thing". Well, maybe the doctors have a choice and their choice is NOT to do the abortions. Desperately needed, these women desperately need to know that there are other choices besides the ones that PP is pushing.

great debate. So many things--one is that Kate said the countries with the most liberal abortion laws have more respect for human life. WHAT???? If she is talking about Denmark, they actually offer a pill for death to people over 70-- free of charge! They have NO respect from the womb to the tomb. Let's fact check that!

Very good and I hope to see the next one soon. It is now 3:40Am and I couldn't turn it off. Great stuff! I would like to see those people who give thumbs up to Tom at the cathedral. Do you think that is true?

You did a great job, Brian. I was most touched by your response to the woman who had taken her daughter for an abortion and was praising Planned Parenthood. (I think the pro-choice members of the audience thought you would condemn her.) Instead, you responded with personal compassion and simply said, "I'm sorry for what you went through." You showed total love, respect and compassion. Also, I know first-hand that answering Q&A is difficult for any topic because you must be prepared for anything and everything, and able to respond on your feet. You handled everthing beautifully. Well done! You have my utmost respect and gratitude.

Thank you for allowing us to view the abortion debate. It was evident the abortion proponents don't even have research to back up their ill-formed opinions. Brian, you did an outstanding job informing the room about the truth of abortion. There wasn't even a debate because she didn't even answer questions presented to her - she looked and sounded "weak". Truth triumphs, life will be and is victorious because it is given by our Creator. Let them "debate" till they run out of air. It's coming!!!!!!!!

I applaud you, Brian, for having the courage to stand up in front of so many people with differing life stories and opinions, and defend life. May you be truly blessed for your efforts. I just want to say that Kate's arguments seemed to be based on cold statistics and overall generalizations (like when she seemed to be insinuating point-blank to Seth that if he weren't born it would've helped ease the population explosion on this planet???) and your arguments were more on the personal value of each person, including the pregnant mother as well as the unborn child, which I think a lot more people can relate to. Also I want to point out that many pro-choice advocates think that all pro-life advocates take that position because of some religious affiliation. Even though I am Catholic and believe in the dignity of life because it is created by God, you do NOT have to be religious to be pro-life; it is in essence a CIVIL RIGHTS issue because you are talking about the destruction of a great deal of human life. I have a brother who does not practice any religion but is staunchly pro-life simply because it takes away another person's right to live. And finally I want to say that Kate's argument that sex education will prevent unwanted pregnancies is so misguided - you would not hand an entire generation of children arsenals of weapons believing that if they know about them, they would not use them. Again, THANK YOU for participating in this debate and standing up for those who have no voice. GOD BLESS YOU!
